Multimedia content creation is a valuable skill that is becoming more and more relevant in our current era. With social media spaces running rampant throughout the world, learning to create and share effective media in online spaces has become almost as important as reading and writing. Through this course, many skills were learned and conditioned for the future of my work in multimedia content creation, and I look forward to furthering them more as I progress in my career online.
While a wide range of topics were covered this semester in this course, the most enjoyable and valuable to me were the Premiere projects. While I feel that my cinematography skills are well versed and effective, I sincerely enjoyed the challenge of working around specific parameters, and challenging my creativity within such. For example, when creating the Premiere Tutorials, I chose to challenge myself in creating a dynamic piece to share within the basic requirements (shooting from different focal lengths), and ended up crafting a video I was excited to share.
Additionally, the final Premiere project was fun to make, as I was able to create something in-line with my personal brand and share a story as well. Making videos that add value to my online audience is something I’m always striving to do, and I loved the challenge to execute this in the course. I feel that I am more encouraged to storytell in my projects moving forward!
Because of my intensive work in social influencing and online content creation, every skill obtained in this course will be well used and furthered in the future — however, I am most thankful to have better developed my skills in audio production through the Audition unit. Audio is a realm of media I don’t often work in, and I am thankful to be better versed in Adobe Audition now, and more aware of effective audio production practices. I look forward to creating podcasts and more audio-heavy videos in the future with these skills!
Overall, I do not feel that there was anything missed in this course, in regards to skills obtained. I feel that the course was extremely well-rounded and covered an effective library of tools and tips in each of the Adobe programs.
During my work in the course, I did not struggle largely in terms of processes, and therefore did not seek many outside resources to complete my work. However, YouTube has and will continue to be a valuable platform for learning and help, and was used a handful of times for clarifying certain processes for a couple of projects. I love using YouTube for learning, as it presents hands-on tutorials from a variety of individuals, covering so many different topics!
It has been an immense pleasure and enjoyable experience working through this course this semester. The ability to learn valuable skills while simultaneously being able to maintain a blog, create unique projects, and connect with others is something not often combined in a college course, and something I am thankful for. Moving forward, I hope to continue furthering the skills I have learned to continually strive to share the best content I can. I look forward to creating and sharing more dynamic projects that best represent my style and brand ethos with the tools I have gained this semester!

Happy holidays! – Dakota Lynne
